  • what can I say? thumbs up shankaboot! as long as ppl react it means their brains are reasoning and not simply following what our society tells us to do! Please do never polish reality!!

  • 1- What we look like in front of the world is irrelevant to what we are; 2- Maid Guevara.... you think you are being witty. I bet you have a Che t-shirt and you think its cool, well Mr. Guevara told me a secret, you are lame buddy; 3- As for the other comments about beating or stealing or what not......well no need to comment, it'll be like talking to apes about global warming. To Shankaboot and co, thank you.

  • brilliant. kudos for touching on the issues most needed to be touched upon in lebanese society, and for doing it so naturally and openly. you successfully made me tear up.

  • To the person (I am being polite by calling it a person) who said: "some maids deserve to be beaten, they are thick and unbearable". SERIOUSLY? What kind of a human are you? Where are your moral values? People like you should be locked up in jail! People like you and Mme Najem make me ashamed of being lebanese! What has happened to our culture?

  • of course not all Lebanese woman are like that, but that does not mean Shankaboot should not highlight a problem we have in our society. Well done Shanka-people!

    Posted: 9:39 AM | Nov 12 2010
  • Mme Najem needs a nose job so that could be the next social crisis depicted in Shankaboot.

    Posted: 3:04 AM | Nov 12 2010
  • hahaha.. someone said "yes some maids deserve to be beaten".. wallaw? jemlet 'deserve to be beaten' bi 7add zeta ma ela ma3na. many ppl have had maids that are lazy and even some that steal, bas ma 7ada bi7e22ello yde22on atleh, simply fire them and look for another OR DO THE DAMN JOB YOURSELF! • I totally support Shankaboot for highlighting what seems to offend some of our commentators here..These people fly overseas in the hope of financially supporting their families back home. They end up being jailed, abused and God only knows what else right in the midst of our luxurious homes.. I applaud Shankaboot for bringing this issue to light and sticking it right up in our face!! We Lebanese have some real issues to deal with. We expect dignity and respect from people, want them to know how wonderful we Lebanese are, yet somehow fail to provide it for the people we bring to clean up our sh** AND underpay them for it. I think it's time for a reality check because some viewers of Shankaboot are still refusing to accept or acknowledge this everyday shameful reality of ours.. (please, excuse moi) uhhhim "MERIKA!!! BRING ME KEB'BAYAT WATER! NOW!!" "HEHEHE.. 3afwan... shu kinteh 3am bit7ouleh Yumna??

  • i agree with the angry person with the largest post and loads of star-swear words. ba3den 7adrit yalli 2al "some maids deserve to be beaten, they are thick and unbearable" did you just say that? HONESTLY? are you SERIOUS? so thick people deserve to be beaten? you, sir/madam are an absolute disgrace to us and to the human kind; you're also being thick :) shall we proceed with your civilized manner to deal with you?

  • I will not talk about shankboot, because the work u guys are doing, is so human, is so honorable, so artistically brave... i simply run out of words and have but a simple gesture to offer... I tip my hat to every single person who is working on this great Lebanese show, because you are the kind of Lebanese i want to be associated with. As for the lady/ man who posted at 11:41 AM | Nov 10 2010 that "yes some maids deserve to be beaten! they are thick and unbearable". Well may the good lord give u a BEATING so hard, it will crack ur THICK skull open so that some light will come into it & maybe, just maybe u could develop from the UNBEARABLE ape that u are to a real human being that can consider & respect the dignity & humanity of others. I think u are a sad pathetic creature who should be put down immediately because u are contaminating an entire generation.

  • it is a subject that should be tackeled but id appreciate if you show other maids that are not abused because we dont treat our maids the same way. maybe show monica in good terms with the family she works for. this would raise awareness and will show the "what to do" and the "what not to do".

  • I think these are real facts and they do not necessarily stereotype Lebanese people as much as they pick on certain aspects of this society trying hard to be claim its civilization...If you want to dig deep into Lebanese society there are far more extreme figures than the blond Mme...There are people men and women who push their maids from the 12th floor and claim that she committed suicide... these are people that we work with and go to university with and even have "sobheyeh"....they are not hidden characters...there are not batmen and batwomen...its time where we should all express support...Lebanese are everywhere in the world...isn't it a fact? are they being treated like this? do they like being treated like this? do they like being stereotyped as Arabs? terrorist? how would they feel if an American tells them you cant swim because the water might turn into a bomb? isn't that the same as not letting maids to swimming pools? C'mmon for F**** sake...people stop posting what make me feel disgusted for being Lebanese...Shankaboot is not maids Guevara....unfortunately no Guevara can take us from this sh***

    Posted: 10:47 PM | Nov 10 2010
  • Really unbearable and many other things....Shankaboot why don't you stick to drama...are you maids Guevara now???

    Posted: 1:49 PM | Nov 10 2010
  • It's true that people like Mme Najem are there in our society, but we have to understand why they do that to their maids! sometimes people have excuses to hit someone within the family...but if we come up to the media and stereotyping all Lebanese women as Mme Najem, this is not right! Not all women are like her...And yes some maids deserve to be beaten! they are thick and unbearable

  • response to "I don't understand you Shankaboot! ennou you pick the topics that makes Lebanese look like they are the worst people on the planet! why don't you say that all these maids come here steal and leave home! So please enough in making us look bad" Good luck living in denial for the rest of your life the first step in resolving a problem is to acknowledge it. It's people like you that keep our country from being trully amazing. I bet you're the kind of person that uses the "BEirut is the best party city "argument whenever you are asked to describe lebanon. Well my friend what shankaboot is doing is the right thing to do

    Posted: 9:36 PM | Nov 08 2010
  • Shankaboot ur great and the topics u touch upon are just as amazing. More over for people who commented that he's making us look bad well maybe we are.... inno most women cant live without a maid and they make the maids lives miserable w bifisho khil2on fiyyon inno its normal for these people to steal from u inno how else can they get back at u its not like there is a law to protect them!!!! im not trying to make stealing something normal or even justify it bil3aks but its way worse to abuse someone and make them feel shit all the time. kemena heki all the kids now being raised by foreign workers is just so absurd and unacceptable inno for non working women i dont understand y u need a maid unless physically she is uncapable!!!!!!

  • Heaven forbid if people show anything negative about us Lebanese. Because our sh!t smells like strawberries and we shoot cancer curing laser beams from our eyes.

    Posted: 9:55 PM | Nov 08 2010
  • good job Shankaboot... it's time to face reality and stop hiding what is truly a big problem in the Lebanese society. Plastic Surgery should be nxt on ur list :')

    Posted: 6:28 PM | Nov 08 2010
  • No. I understand Shankaboot. It's important to show the world about those issues. The fact that nearly half of the new lebanese generation is being raised by foreign domestic workers. Why is it that almost every household in Lebanon nowadays, regardless of their social status, can't seem to live without someone doing their cooking and cleaning? Can't they do it themselves? How come in Canada we seem to manage to take care of our kids, cook and clean without taking advantage of those poor people? Why is it that lebanese peopl, in the need of feling spuperior, need to abuse their foreign domestic workers? It's a shame!

    Posted: 5:44 PM | Nov 08 2010
  • Totally agree...why do you have to show these things?

    Posted: 4:45 PM | Nov 08 2010
